Dr. Iyad Abumoghli
United Nations Environment Programme, Director and Regional Representative for West Asia
Dr. Iyad holds a doctorate in biochemical engineering and has more than 30 years of experience in environmental management, sustainable development, strategic planning, human development , knowledge and innovation. Dr. Iyad Abumoghli, worked with several international bodies at the global, regional and national levels. He represents UNEP in the region and leads the implementation of the Programme of Work of UNEP team in West Asia focusing on partnership building, regionalizing sustainable development goals and integrating green economy concepts into national development planning while contributing to an integrated approach to delivering with other UN organizations a coherent and coordinated package of services.
Asaad Ahmad Al-Saad
CEO of PIC, and Chairman of Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC)
Mr. Asaad Ahmad Al-Saad is chief executive officer of PIC and chairman of Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), headquartered at South Sabahiya, State of Kuwait. Prior to becoming the CEO of PIC in May 2013, he held numerous leadership roles within KNPC, and most recently served as chairman and managing director for Kuwait Aviation Fuelling Company (KAFCO), a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC). Along with other PIC leaders, Mr. Al-Saad is focused on enhancing PIC’s position locally and globally through implementation of the Company’s growth plans to achieve the maximum value toward Kuwait’s economy. In 2013, he was a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), making PIC a member fully embracing its policies and principles. Mr. Al-Saad has served as a board member of many organizations and companies, including the Kuwait Environment Public Authority, KAFCO, Kuwait Petroleum International (Aruba) and KNPC. After earning a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of New Haven in the United States, Mr. Al-Saad began his career at the Mina Abdulla Refinery at KNPC.
His Excellency Mohamed Bin Obaid Al Mazrowei

His Excellency graduated from Boston University in the United States of America. He went held several positions such as the Assistant Secretary General of Industrial Projects Sector in the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consultancy, The Secretary General of Economic Affairs of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), The Assistant Undersecretary for Accounts and Monitory & General Manager for Investment Department in the Ministry of Finance in UAE. He also participated in numerous conferences and official committees. Hi is also a member of the UAE State’s delegation in the meetings of the Higher Council of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) since the Eleventh session till the twenty – second session as well as the meetings of the Governors of the Islamic Bank for Development , World Bank and International Monetary Fund. He’s a Board Member of Directors for many companies and organizations. And since the 3rd of April 2013 his Excellency became The President of Arab Authority for Investment & Agricultural Development (AAAID).
Dr. Ismahane Elouafi

Dr. Elouafi has a PhD in Plant Genetics from Cordoba University, Spain and has over 15 years of experience in Agricultural Research, Science Management, and Science / Policy Integration. Prior to her appointment to ICBA, Dr Elouafi held management positions within the Canadian federal system, including the position of Director of the Research Management and Partnerships Division at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and the position of Senior-Advisor to the Assistant Deputy Minister – Research at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC). Dr Elouafi has also worked as a scientist with several international research organizations such as JIRCAS (Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences); ICARDA (International Center for Agricultural Research and Dry Areas); and CIMMYT (International Maize and Wheat Center).

Karin leads the sustainability programme for the Standard Bank Group, Africa’s largest financial services company, focusing on responsible financing, climate change and energy, environmental and social risk and sustainability communication. Previous roles were at Anglo American electricity utility, Eskom, and the Industrial Environmental Forum . Karin’s early career was in news and business journalism. She holds an MA in International Political Economy (Leeds). She serves on the Boards of the National Business Initiative, and the Endangered Wildlife Trust and chairs the Institute of Directors’ Sustainable Development Forum. She chaired the Global Reporting Initaitive’s international stakeholder forum from 2009-2013 inclusive.
Carlos Eduardo Lessa Brandão

Mr. Brandão is the vice-chair of the Stakeholder Council of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and serves on the board of Fundo Ethical, the first Socially Responsible Investment Fund in Latin America. He is a member of the Technical Review Committee of the Global Initiative for Sustainability Ratings (GISR) and a former board member of the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance (IBGC) and of the BM&FBOVESPA’s Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE). Mr. Brando provides governance and sustainability advisory services and teaches in various executive education programs. He is a Securities Portfolio Manager authorized by the CVM and a Certified Board Member by the IBGC.

Peter Ndoro has been a broadcaster, both in television and radio for more than two decades becoming a familiar face and voice in Africa. He has worked for a number of media outlets such as M-Net, CNBC Africa, SABC as well as a number of radio stations. This includes a three year stint as a news anchor/producer at the BBC World Service in London. Peter trained as an Accountant at Coopers & Lybrand and graduated from the University of South Africa with a degree in Accounting & Auditing. Prior to entering the broadcast arena, he worked in accounting, advertising, marketing and business management for a number of organizations.

She is the author of 3 books and over 25 publications (chapters, articles), and has delivered more than 100 presentations in over 15 countries in the last 5 years on a range of topics some of which include: Corporate Governance, Change Management, Enterprise Development and Sustainability & CSR. She currently serves on the Global Agenda Council for Africa for the World Economic Forum (WEF) and is a Think Tank Member, World Entrepreneurship Forum. Dr. Nasser Saidi is the former Chief Economist and Headof External Relations at the Dubai International Financial Centre and the founder and former executive director of theHawkamah Institute for Corporate Governance & the Mudara Institute of Directors. He conceived and developed the role of Chief Economist in the DIFC while Hawkamah was developed to bridge the corporate governance gap through research, advocacy, and advisory services. Dr. Saidi is a member of the IMF’s Advisory Group for the MENA region and chairs the regional Clean Energy Business Council. Dr.Saidi holds a Ph.D. and a M.A. in Economics from the University of Rochester in USA. In 2012, he was named among the 50 most influential Arabs in the World by The Middle East magazine, for the fourth consecutive year.
Programme Officer with Sustainable Energy Finance, UNEP
Mrs. Touhami’s work focuses on the UNEP finance activities. Within the Mediterranean Investment Facility program, she is responsible for identifying, developing, structuring and implementing various financing mechanisms that help to scale up investment in the clean energy sector in different countries (Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, the Balkans, Mexico, ect.). She is also managing the implementation of several financial support mechanisms in Latin America and South East Asia. Before joining UNEP, Mrs. Touhami held the positions of Deputy Country Manager of the Photovoltaic Market Transformation Initiative and the Solar Development Group, two solar investment funds managed respectively by the International Finance Corporation and Triodos. Mrs Touhami holds a Master of Business Administration degree from IONA University in New York, USA

Matthew Tukaki founded sustainability and social investment business, The Sustain Group, in 2010 having just retired from leading the world’s employment company, Drake International. Between 2010 and 2014 Sustain became one of the largest social investment companies in the Asia Pacific managing sustainability projects from Australia to Indonesia and Vietnam to India. Matthew was Australia’s Representative to the United Nations Global Compact from 2010-2013 and was appointed by UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon, to the governing Board of the UNGC in May of 2013. He has been Chairman of Deakin Universities Centre for Responsible and Sustainable Organisations since 2011 and is the current Chair of the International Advisory Board of BESERG – the joint initiative between the National Science Foundation of the United States and the University of Sydney. In 2014 Matthew launched the EntreHub.org, now the world’s fastest growing networks for social enterprises, entrepreneurs and start-up business. EntreHub.org has more than 34,000 members spread across more than 80 countries. Matthew is an author and advocate for sustainable business models, access and equity to finance and the international development agenda known as “Post 2015”

Luca Crisciotti is the Chief Executive Officer for DNV GL Business Assurance Group, appointed March 2012. Before this he held the position as Director of Operations in DNV Business Assurance Asia & Australia, living and working in Shanghai, China. Mr. Crisciotti started his career in DNV in 2001 as a Sales Manager in Rome, Italy, continuing his career in DNV first as the Business Development Manager for the Division South Europe followed by three years as the country manager in Japan. Mr. Crisciotti has a degree in Business Economics from the University “La Sapienza” in Rome.
